Aim:
To give the trainee the skills to design a Manual Handling course, the knowledge deliver it effectively and the competence to answer questions on the subject.
Course Objectives:
On completion of the course the trainee will be able to teach and
- Explain the legislation around Manual Handling
- Explain the parts of the spinal column and the functions of each part
- Explain the main risk factors for back problems
- Carry out Manual Handling Risk Assessments
- Measure the learners performance of manual handling techniques
- Measure the learners performance of training techniques
- Develop and deliver a manual handling course
Certification:
On successful completion the trainee will receive a Level 6 QQI Manual Handling Instructors Certificate valid for 5 years
